AUCTION : 1011

Lot#: 510

DESCRIPTION: Francois Hochenadl, Vienna, time and strike double fusee ebonized wood bracket clock with shelf, 18th century
CONDITION: the ebonized case is dull and worn, but the quality and complexity of the movement and dial more than compensate. The brass and silvered dial's arch includes calendar and moon phase indicators, and the mock pendulum swings below XII. From the rear, the large silvered maker boss sits behind the cow tail pendulum, below two bells and the crown wheel escapement. The movement looks complete but probably needs professional attention. Included shelf is in very good condition. The lot is accompanied by paperwork offering additional details. Although a few of these were made that go for a week, most are geared for 56 hours or two days with reserve. Ht of clock including handle 20", shelf adds another 6"
ESTIMATE: $1200 - $1800
PRICE SOLD: $1700
